A cross between E.T. and Resident Evil, Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a cute, cuddly chimp story that morphs into The Great Ape Escape. If only the ape leader grabbed a motorcycle and jumped some barbed wire, then you’d have a great movie here!
One Word Movie Review: Good
The Movie Mood for audiences is Positive. Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a technically great movie and delivers what you’d expect as an audience member: lots of great looking apes and the reason why Charlton Heston returned to Earth to find it ruled by hairy humans.
MarketBOB’s Movie Review Sentiment Indicators, the GQS (Genre, Quality, Story) rate Rise of the Planet of the Apes an emotional BEAR. With the Dow Jones coming off it’s worst week since 2008, with the 500 point dive on Thursday, this movie which warns about greedy corporations seeking profits at any cost isn’t going to help the overall mood of people out there. Let’s hope the governments of the world can get their acts together.
