Prince of Persia The Sands of Time Movie Review

The stars of Prince of Persia are equal to the glory days of Hollywood with Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton looking absolutely stunning in every scene, whether they are tumbling through sand storms or being terrorized by snarling vipers or arguing over who is giving the orders.  The plot is really simple, a palace power play between fathers and sons (birth and adopted siblings), brother vs. brother and kingdom vs. kingdom.  The only complexity is this special dagger which controls time, and this is the McGuffin (Hitchcock’s term for the plot device everyone is after) of interest as it can alter the past and change who should be king.
